FAQ

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is until 11am.
To store luggage before check-in or after check-out, please ask at the front desk.

What are the rules regarding cancellation fees?

Cancellation fees are as follows: Cancellation fees apply in proportion to the total amount of the room booking.
Until March 31, 2017:
from 21 days to 4 days before your stay: 10% of the total booked amount
from 3 days before to the day of your stay: 100% of the total booked amount
No-show: 100% of the total booked amount
From April 1, 2017 onwards:
before stay 20%, day of stay 80%, no-show 100%

Do you have non-smoking rooms?

Yes, we do. Please choose your desired room type when you book.

To preserve the natural beauty of the Yaeyama Islands for future generations, we adhere to environmental practices in cooperation with our customers.

There are no toothbrushes, hairbrushes or razors in the rooms.

Is there access to an Internet connection?

Internet access is not provided in guest rooms.
There are notebooks connected to the Wireless LAN available for use in the lobby. You can use them for free.
Customers who own a device compatible with a wireless connection may use the LAN connection in the lobby.

Please tell me about accommodation and equipment fees for children.

Bed: one child up to 11 years old can use a bed for 70% of the adult fee.

Shared bed: one child up to 11 years old can share a bed with a parent. There is no room fee for a child that shares a bed with a parent, but the following fees apply:

Breakfast for a 6 to 11 year-old bed sharer: ¥1,600

Breakfast for a 4 to 5 year-old bed sharer: ¥1,080

Breakfast for a 0 to 3 year-old bed sharer: free

We also provide baby food for babies at least 7 months old for free during your stay Please book in advance.
Please consult the front desk in case of sickness or injury. The nearest clinic is about 15 minutes by car from the hotel.

Note: bedclothes, dressing gowns and towels are not provided for children that share a bed.

Can more than 3 people use one room?

Yes, by using a combination of regular and day beds.
In the case of 4 guests, 3 people sleep in regular beds and 1 sleeps in a day bed.
The daybed has a cutoff corner (about 60cm) Check the floor plans on the guest room page for reference.

Do you accommodate educational and employee group trips?

Yes, we often accommodate various types of groups. Everyone from the group can participate in the trekking, snorkeling, kayaking and other activities. Please feel free to request details on the inquiry form.

Do you have room service?

We are terribly sorry, but we do not provide room service. You can purchase sweets, instant food and beverages at the shop inside the hotel.

Do you have a laundry service?

No, we do not provide laundry service.
However, a coin laundry is available within the hotel.

Is the sea visible from all rooms?

No. Trees in front of the hotel serve as an environmentally friendly windbreak. They block the view from some rooms.

Is there a shuttle to and from Iriomote Uehara Port?

Yes. Guests can use our free shuttle bus between the hotel and Uehara Port (approx. 10 min.). Its schedule matches the frequent departures and arrivals of the ferry.

If service to and from Uehara Port is suspended, our shuttle can take you to Ohara Port.
If service to and from Uehara Port is suspended, guests can use our free shuttle bus between the hotel and Ohara Port. Its schedule will match some of the departures and arrivals of the ferry.

The shuttle bus service is not connected to the Ohara route of the Ishigaki Island Dream Tour. Please be advised in advance.
Bus services provided by boat companies can transport you at other times and on other routes.

What credit cards do you accept, and how available are post offices and banks?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX, Diners Club, DC and China UnionPay
Post office: 15 minutes by car from the hotel.
Bank: not on Iriomote Island.
Convenience store: not on Iriomote Island.
Deliveries: available from our shop.

How early does breakfast start?

Breakfast hours are from 7:00 to 9:30am (last entry).

Can I smoke in the restaurant?

The restaurant is entirely non-smoking (including terrace seats).
We are terribly sorry but smoking guests must use designated areas within the premises.

Is there a dress code at the restaurant?

There are no clothing restrictions within the restaurant. Please come dressed as you like.
However, please refrain from wearing a guest room dressing gown to the restaurant

Are there private rooms at the restaurant?

We are terribly sorry, but there are no private dining rooms.

What types of alcohol are served at the restaurant?

We offer various brands of awamori, Japanese sake and western alcohol.

Are there any precautions to take when using the pool?

Guests wearing tattoos (including stickers) or swimsuits that do not meet the hotel’s standards and guests who have drunk excessively are not admitted to the pool. Please note that you may be asked to leave the pool for these reasons. We may ask you to stop using anything (such as large photography gear) that we deem dangerous or troublesome to other customers. This pool is for the exclusive use of our staying guests (guests from outside cannot use it).

Are there any precautions to take with kids using the pool?

For safety reasons, children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
We strictly refuse use of the pool by children younger than elementary school students who are by themselves.
They must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. (Minors such as junior high and high school students are not considered guardians.) In addition, infants and elementary schoolers who cannot swim without the assistance of a floating device must be accompanied by a parent or guardian within the pool.
We may ask children to leave the water if deemed necessary for safety reasons.

Are there hot springs and public baths?

There are no hot springs or public baths at the hotel.

What activities can be enjoyed by children?

We offer various activities for children of different ages in different seasons.

Is there a limit to the number of participants?

It depends on the activity. We recommend making inquiries and reservations in advance.

Is it necessary to book activities in advance?

No. But we recommend booking them before your stay so you can choose your desired time slot and program.

Please tell me about any important points regarding the activities.

The activities we introduce are generally for small groups.
During busy seasons, such as Japanese Golden Week in May and the July to August summer holiday, activities are typically filled to capacity. Many activities will already be filled by the time families and groups check in at the hotel. So we recommend booking your desired activities as soon as possible before coming to the hotel.

Some activities, such as canoing and trekking, cannot be joined by pregnant women for safety reasons. For details, please inquire in advance.

Only staying guests may join the activities. We recommend booking in advance before your stay.

An activity may be changed or canceled on the scheduled day or right before bad weather or sea conditions begin. Thank you for your understanding.

Listed contents and fees are subject to change without notice, so please confirm the latest details when making inquiries or reservations.

Cancellations and participation date changes can be made free of charge until 6pm two days before the activity date.
Please note that any cancellation made after 6pm will incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Please refrain from showing any form of body art, including tattoos, paintings and stickers, anywhere in our hotel (except in your guest room). Please cover body art by wearing a jacket, rash guard, etc. when participating in activities.

Do you have baby beds or strollers?

Do you have food menus for children?

Kids’ dinner buffet: ¥3,200 for kids aged 7 to 12, ¥2,100 for kids aged 4 to 6, free for kids aged 0 to 3
Kids’ breakfast buffet: ¥1,600 for kids aged 7 to 12, ¥1,080 for kids aged 4 to 6, free for kids aged 0 to 3
We also provide baby food for babies at least 7 months old for free during your stay (please book in advance)

Can children use the pool by themselves?

No, they cannot.

Are there dressing gowns for children?

Yes, there are. We will bring them to your room if desired.

Is it possible to have my baby’s nursing bottles disinfected?

Yes, please ask at the restaurant or front desk. You can also use our microwave ovens.

What should I do in case of sickness or injury?

Please ask at the front desk.
If you need medical treatment from a doctor, we will introduce you to the nearest clinic (15 min. by car).
We also have thermometers and basic medicine at the front desk.

Can I make reservations through the hotel for tours such as to Yubu Island?

Tickets are available to Yubu Island and other tourist spots in that area, but we do not provide any guided tours there.

How do I access the hotel from Ishigaki Airport.

Taxis and buses operate between Ishigaki Airport and Ishigaki Port Island Terminal.
You can also easily take a taxi (about 30 min.).
Note: Ishigaki Airport (Painushima Airport) changed its location on March 7, 2013.
The distance between the airport and Ishigaki Port Island Terminal has increased from 4.5 km to 15 km. Please keep this in mind when planning your hotel arrival time.

Is there a shuttle to and from Iriomote Uehara Port?

Yes. Guests can use our free shuttle bus between the hotel and Uehara Port (approx. 10 min.). Its schedule matches the frequent departures and arrivals of the ferry.

If service to and from Uehara Port is suspended, our shuttle can take you to Ohara Port.
If service to and from Uehara Port is suspended, guests can use our free shuttle bus between the hotel and Ohara Port. Its schedule will match some of the departures and arrivals of the ferry.

Is there a shuttle between the hotel and Ohara Port?

There is usually no pick-up from Ohara Port to our hotel.

But a bus runs between Ohara Port and our hotel 4 times a day, (an approx. 80 min. ride) and taxis are always available. There are no taxi stands on Iriomote Island . Taxis must be called by phone.

If service to Uehara Port is suspended and transfer only becomes possible from Ohara Port, we will provide shuttle service between Ohara Port and the hotel approximately every 60 minutes.

Can we use mobile phones and wireless LAN?

Mobile phone calls with Softbank phones are not possible because there is no Softbank antenna on the island.
You can use wireless LAN in the 1st floor lobby.

Do you have a coin laundry?

Yes. There is a coin laundry in the hotel. There are 8 washing machines, 8 dryers and 2 dehydrators (for swimsuits).
Price: washing machines ¥300, dryers ¥200 (30 min.)
Detergent is available at the hotel shop.

Can I bring a pet?

No pets (except guide dogs) are allowed.

Is there a golf course nearby?

No. There are no golf courses on Iriomote Island.

Do you provide service for special events?

Yes. Iriomote Island will fill your days with unforgettable memories and is a great place to celebrate special events.
For anniversaries and other occasions, we offer a special cake with assorted fruit (requires a fee and reservation at least 4 days in advance). Please book by phone.
